Be Your Own Online Success, Enough Said

How much success have you found with your new online marketing job? Has it been plentiful or has it been a disaster.

If I have learned one thing to pass on to anyone and everyone starting their own online business it is this. Don't buy into every new fad you see and let it all suck your resources dry. What I have found is the simpler the better. Keep it straight and don't talk all that fancy stuff.

Many a new entrepreneur has started out with dreams of excellence and a determination to vanquish every foe and become the next .com millionaire.

In reality what I have found is quite different. The difference is everyone seems to want to do it that same way. Someone may say, I will make money just like John Smith. Well if that was the case I guess you would have to be John Smith. Lets be real people, trust your own instincts not the next new and exciting secret.

If I hear the word "niche" one more time I just might scream. If you have been into online marketing for any length of time you will have heard this word a million times. You will wish that you had a $1 for everytime you have related it yourself. But the truth is you don't just need to find the right niche. You have to be that niche.

It's sort of like that Shakespeare phrase "to be or not to be, that is the question". Well it's all about being something and being that something great, and the secret is being that something great for more than just a flash.

Go onward and upward and everything will work out.

Writing, an Online Job - Freelance Writing

Freelance writing can take many different paths. The overall freedom of freelance writing is what makes this opportunity attractive. This new found freedom can often be quite discouraging to new writers. The big problem is information overload and finding legitimate writing work takes a great deal of effort and time.

Through trial and error I've discovered a few good companies that new freelance writers may like to use to land a winning job. The first step is to get your name out there. Use your real name, but if you're not comfortable with that you can always pick up a pen name.

The quickest way to get your name out there is to sign up with a high ranking, quality website. My best success has been using, associatedcontent.com. Write up a few different styles to illustrate your work. What is great you get paid, small amounts for your articles. This makes for a good start as you begin to promote your work online.

Once you have some writing examples of different styles at reputable websites, try your luck at some traffic-heavy freelance sites. For beginners I would recommend getafreelancer.com and elance.com.

Go to the writing sections of these websites and see what buyer request of their writers. To start you may have to take some lower paying jobs but you will most likely land more clients that will provide you with consistent work. Consistent clients are priceless.

Gook luck landing the perfect writing jobs.

Essential Inspiration

"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved ad always will solve the problems of the human race."

Hot Potato

Ok, I think I have really done it. I have completed 7, yes count that 7 articles that are currently in review for publishing. I never thought I could do something like that. You know the more you get to this the more you learn it doesn't stop. I probably have not written that much on safe online jobs my whole life. But hey isn't that what I started this for? I think it was.

Educate yourself

I knew I believed early-on in the concept of education but it has been increasingly on my mind. I have been working my new website and taking courses, online courses in the use of photshop and other applications focused on web development. I am impressed what one can do with just a little training. Moving onward and upward.

The Latest...

I am truly beginning to believe that becoming skilled at some of the major software packages gives one a head start. It is more difficult than it appears to put together some of the websites discussed in the listed programs. Filling forms with original content and striving to make the process appealing can be a challenge. It is important to keep moving forward.

Education!

Things have been rolling a long rather nicely. I have been learning some new things that have helped me branch out into some different ideas.

For the last week or so I have been attending training on how to build your own website. I have been disappointed in the generic sites that you pay for. They all have the templates and cookie-cutter concept down. But that just doesn't work for me. I am wanting something different, something fresh and new. Not the same suit with a different color.

That is just it. This whole marketing thing happens in different directions and takes you down different roads. One of the things I like best is the fact that you don't have to rely on one method of income. This is very important.

Add To Cart

I am learning some different strategies to make it in the online marketing world. But one thing was observed today that may be very familiar with each of you. Have you noticed something? Have you noticed that as you search for marketing ideas and home business ideas that one thing seems to keep popping up, (to use a probably inappropriate pun). At the end of almost every web page right near the bottom you will find a special little button. Just hit the "End" key and you'll most likely find it. You will find the words, "Add to cart." How does that make you feel? It probably is a little uncomfortable, partly because throughout the whole excitement process of this particular marketing campaign did you even see a price? And what is it you're being enticed to buy anyway?

I have noticed I have a habit. Perhaps this is the skeptic in me but every time I start to see words in bold type, screaming, "limited time offer". I hit the "End" key and look for this Add to cart button. Before I go any further I want to know the cost and exactly what it is I am being sold. I do this partly out of safety to myself and my pocketbook. Before I get too deep in the sales pitch, with all it's glory, I want to know the damage up-front.

Does this sound familiar? Pass it on.

Moving along

This is getting exciting. I have been learning more than I ever expected at this stage of the game. I think being an average guy who has his mind grounded in reality has some huge advantages. I am not going to hype up an idea larger than it really is and from my experience I generally only want to see the facts or results.

I have learned in the last few days that it is very difficult to get an article published. I don't know how many of you are great writers but perhaps the editors just don't like me. I don't know. Article submission can be frustrating. This is one of those parts they don't tell you when they're trying to sell you on the idea.

Learn to read the fine print. Generally everyone out there is trying to sell you something. That is not necessarily bad but just be careful. With the Profit Lance system I've been using I have learned that frequently information and knowledge is more valuable than tangible things.

I registered a domain this last week. I will have to reveal that at a later time as I am working on the website.

Keys To Success

What are the keys to success in making money online at home in your spare time and with little know-how but a computer and an internet connection? This generally is the great question for the honest every-day person out there. I believe persistence is a huge factor.

One thing that should be remembered is this absolute fact. People are succeeding. I am proof positive of one attempt at this whole idea. In just over a week I have already begun making some money. Now that was an amazing thing in itself to me.

I have added a new link of interest today. Check out the Maverick Money Makers. Mack Michaels may be on to something very good. I have to review the program it's successes and dangers but I really think it's worth checking out.

Keep up the work. It is work. And if someone tells you something different they are lying to you. But it is work that I am finding is immensely rewarding.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Nicley done!

Okay, I am pretty much sold on this idea of making money online. I think that time is the only factor now that momentum is picking up. Things really are moving faster than expected. I listed some of my other websites including this one in the search engines. I found a great site to complete this task rather easily. Check out this site www.freewebsubmission.com.

Everyone have a great day!

...and counting

Okay, today I have been working on putting together a website that is not in the form of a blog. I have found this to be more challenging that I expected. Registering a domain name is the easy part. However there is a somewhat daunting effort with creation and publishing software that tries to speak with a host site. Unless I want a cheap looking site that appears pulled out of a box I guess I could have it up already, however I am a little more particular than that.  It is coming along but has become more of an adventure in learning than anything else.

On the other hand take a look at the new numbers. I have been at this for just under a week and have put more effort in learning the ropes than actually implementing marketing or advertising efforts. I believe that education is the key. Education that on how the different elements all tie together, having a website, marketing a product and then converting that to revenue. Of all the tips I have read I have found that the Profit Lance system has had the most powerful impact on my education. You can find a link to Profit Lance to the right.
The Quest

I am on a quest to make money online the REAL way. Over the next few days, months or years I will be in process of putting a program together. I will tell you of my successes and failures, ideas and mistakes. If you will stay with me, I am sure we will learn something together.

Just so you know I am not about all the hype. I really don't like the pomp and glitter. I am for sound business advice and even technical know-how. I believe in the statement "trust, but verify". Testimonials are great, when they are true.
