No-nonsense Adsense

It has begun. I am following the steps as precisely as I can and trying not to feel too overwhelmed. I must admit I am floored by the number of different concepts that are used to promote and hopefully in the end, 'convert' an action that results in profit from an advertiser, affiliate or some other promotional action.

I set up my AdSense account today. This has become just a little daunting as I didn't know I had to open the hood of this web-site and ad "code" to the html that produces the page. This is something that I thought the IT gurus did in the old days before there was software or web applications that write html for you. However I do think I completed the task properly without any visual damage to the site. This is a good thing. I say that because I have attempted a similar aciton before and completely destroyed the order and layout of a web page. One of the tips I would encourage anyone to do is back up the html code in notepad before blindly climbing in the engine and changing the spark plugs. Because I am not intimately familiar with the layout and content of html I found it difficult to locate changes made and verify.

Now AdSense says I have to wait 24-hours for things to update. Lets see if there is success in this aspect. Cross your fingers.

The Quest

I am on a quest to make money online the REAL way. Over the next few days, months or years I will be in process of putting a program together. I will tell you of my successes and failures, ideas and mistakes. If you will stay with me, I am sure we will learn something together.

Just so you know I am not about all the hype. I really don't like the pomp and glitter. I am for sound business advice and even technical know-how. I believe in the statement "trust, but verify". Testimonials are great, when they are true.
